Colossians 1:11–20 is a hymn of praise to the excellence of Jesus Christ. Paul describes Christ as the image of the invisible God, the one in whom all things hold together, the head of the church, and the reconciler of all creation.
But here is a question to consider. If Christ is the Son of God, and we are children of God, what does that mean for us? How do we reconcile this passage with our own identities?
