In addition to several other awards, Sonia has been awarded for Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, as well as being a finalist in the National Association of Women Business Owners Optimist Award.

Along with having served as a judge for a number of dance, beauty, and fitness competitions, Sonia has also been a spokesperson for a female focused nutrition company for many years. Sonia has also starred on channel W.E. in reality shows.

With others, Sonia has pioneered the use of dance as therapy for marriage counseling, grief counseling, improving self-esteem, and wellness awareness programs. She has also been a passionate advocate for the empowerment of women in business through speeches and fund-raising activities.
