We drop below 50mph and blow away Jan de Bont's adrenaline powerhouse, Speed (1994), in order to clear a path for Joseph Sargent's cerebral subway heist classic, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three(1974). The Mailbag culls the best of our listeners from the world of Twitter. This Week in Torrents, Josh presents a vintage episode of SNL hosted by the late Walter Matthau, with original commercials! Another edition of Where in the World Cinema? finds Mitch contining his tour of Italia with a lesson on Giallo films in the form of 1987's Opera, the Rock & Roll mystery slasher masterpiece from the Italian horror maestro himself, Dario Argento! Recycled Cinemareturns to take another look at Tony Scott's abysmally bloated and bland, big budget remake of The Taking of Pelham 123(2009), starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta, and Felix Enriquez Alcala's surprisingly watchable TV effort, TheTaking of Pelham One Two Three (1998), starring Edward James Olmos and Vincent D'Onofrio.
