Steven was kidnapped by Kenneth Parnell when he was 7 years old, and by a miraculous turn of events ended up back home with his family at the age of 14. Cary Stayner, Steven's older brother would go on to be a multiple murderer and a pedophile after Steven's unfortunate death 9 years after his release from Parnell.
