Coronavirus, an outlier: In the wake of the SARS virus in 2003, the S&P 500 recorded losses of around 12.8%. All other major outbreaks such as Ebola, Zika and Swine Flu pushed the market down by at least 6%. However, during the current Coronavirus outbreak we have seen an increase on the S&P 500 in the stock market. Joel breaks down why we are seeing such a significant outlier and gives us insights on the underlying conditions that have created this phenomenon.
Record Speed Recovery: Brett brought with him new data which shows that the Australian residential real estate market is now seeing the fastest recovery in terms of time that it takes for prices to go back to peak. Valentines Backlash: One guy reported that even though his girlfriend did not like mushrooms, he blended mushrooms into the Valentine’s Day dinner that he had prepared for her and received heavy backlash on the internet.
Wendy’s Woes: There is a warning against going to a particular Wendy’s franchise in America as one of the staff members snapped a photo of themselves taking a bath in the kitchen sink.
