Fortresses is a live, instrumental band directed by Zachary Hines, II focusing on playing original Jazz, Funk, Soul, Afro-beat, and Hip Hop compositions. The group collaborates with many artists and local organizations, including, SeedDaHope Productions, Downtown Hampton Development Authority, Beauty for Ashes Contemporary School of Dance, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Urban League, City of Newport News, City of Norfolk, and many more. Fortresses provide a fresh perspective to a legendary music form.
