Episode 78: The Shift from Employee to Entrepreneur
In 2021, more than 42 million employees left their jobs which the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports was 60% higher than in 2020. Some are calling it “The Great Resignation” and say it goes deeper than just corvid-19 after-effects. Perhaps it was the time many employees were unexpectedly given when sent to work from home that had many of them thinking. These thoughts led them to leave their current jobs in search of more freedom, flexibility, and finances. Ironically, these reasons are why most business owners started their entrepreneurial journey. However, many employees will just find new “jobs” as they lack two crucial components to starting their own venture, which is a mindset and how they approach things. In fact, even some “business owners” do not really own anything except a job they laid out for themselves; sometimes even at a lower income than if they were an employee. If this is you, it is not too late to move from an employee to an entrepreneur even if you are the employee in the company you own.
