Basecamp is a web-based project management tool that was launched in 2004 and has over 100 000 paying customers. Basecamp received no seed funding and was entirely bootstrapped. Jeff Bezos - the founder of Amazon - acquired a minority stake in Basecamp in 2006.
David is also the creator of Ruby on Rails, a best-selling author of the books REWORK and REMOTE and a Le Mans class-winning racing driver!
David discusses bootstrapping vs raising venture money when starting a business and offers advice to those wanting to build a business by bootstrapping.
