We have all heard it before . . . 

“If you do what you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” 

They used to say this quote every day on the morning announcements when I was in high school.

I prefer the quote from George Lorimer, “You've got to get up every morning with determination if you're going to go to bed with satisfaction.”

I already knew the theme of the podcast this week going into today. However, I had the privilege of listening to SunCast Media Episode 515 with Nico Johnson and Spencer Oberan today during my morning run in the rain.

From now on when people ask me why I work at Enerflo I am just going to direct them to this podcast. There was so much great insight and wisdom. It was truly inspiring.  

The days I get up with determination, don’t feel like work. They are also the same days I find myself most energized and fulfilled.  

When you tell people this the next question that you inevitably get is, “how do I find my passion?” 

Spencer nailed it in his interview with Nico when he said, “what do you always think about, what is the thing you would do for free, better yet, what is the thing you would pay someone else to let you do?” That is passion! 

Spencer went on to say, “sprint after what excites you most.”

This reminds me of a Les Brown talk that I listen to over and over again where he says, “you can’t walk after your destiny, you can't stroll after your destiny . . . you gotta RUN after your destiny.”

The bottom line is that if you want to wake up with determination and go to bed with satisfaction then I encourage you to listen to this advice.

Reflect this week on what you believe is worthwhile. What do you think about, what excites you? Do more of that.
