Episode 79 - What About Me?
"Why have we fasted, and You see it not? Why have we humbled ourselves, and You take no knowledge of it? Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure, and oppress all your workers." - Isaiah 58:3 ESV
"Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself." - Philippians 2:3 NKJV
"Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgement." - Proverbs 18:1 ESV
"Then Jesus said to His disciples, "Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me." - Matthew 16:24 NIV
"For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere." - James 3:16-17 NIV
"For those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger." - Romans 2:8 NIV
For selfish people only three people matter in their lives: "me, myself and I." Then your life and others' revolve around you. Selfishness brings out the worst in you, because you always fight for your own interests. You have to win no matter what. You must get all the attention. Don't let this happen. Let the Lord's selfless love flow over you today, then you'll lose all your selfish desires. God gave you everything you have, all your gifts, your talents and everything you have done. Don't be selfish, Jesus was selfless and always thought about others before himself. We need to be more like Jesus. Thank you and God Bless!
