"It takes a village to raise a child" is a famous African proverb that means that an entire community of people must interact with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment. This same sentiment can be applied to the topic of support. Social support is extremely important in pushing ourselves to achieve goals, aiding us to make difficult decisions, and pick us up when we are feeling down. With the power of support from those we care about most, we have the unique opportunity to achieve anything we wish, but without it, we may stumble beyond belief.
