What is Ketamine?

Uses of Ketamine
 
 
Functional Fitness
Definition
Fitness in a way that actually improves performance at key tasks. 
Example: lifting stuff and moving actual stuff, instead of just lifting weights
 
Benefits: Works many muscles, including smaller, less worked ones.  Reduces the risk of injury from performing routine tasks and improves performance.
 
Exercise Ideas
Think in terms of what you do as work tasks:
Lifting patients
Rows, carries, sandbag lifts
Raising ladders
OHP, raise ladders
Lifting and moving gear bags
Lift and carry heavy stuff (hose rolls, gear bags, etc)
Dragging victims
Drag dummies or hose packs or such
Forcing doors
Sledge hammer vs tires
Chopping wood
Moving and using hydraulic tools
Lift and move and hold hydraulic tools
Walking up stairs
Carry heavy stuff up stairs
Stairmaster
Dragging and advancing hoselines
Do exactly that
Wearing an air pack
Again, wear an air pack
 
Planning a routine
Build a circuit
Vary the activities
Have some fun
Have some suck factor
Consider using a limiting component
Strike tire until other guy is done on the stairs/carry, etc
 
Tips and Tricks
Can work some of these into training activities
PT hike, with preplanning
Dragging charged hoselines, with pump operations
Patient care, with moving the patient a distance
Work as a team
Build team cohesion by relying on each other to finish the exercises
