Cowgirl Chronicles

Episode 8: Mary Fields

Listen Later

Mary Fields was the first African American to carry mail on a Star Route for the United States Post Office Department and the second woman to receive a Star Route contract. She was in her early 60's when she started this work. Her story is quite incredible.
