2020 and 2021 brought about extreme changes in the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE). USMLE Step 2 CS has been cancelled, and USMLE Step 1 is set to change from being scored to 'Pass/Fail' as of 1/1/2022. Although the cancellation of USMLE Step 2 CS has brought about a sigh of relief for most-all FutureDocs, the resulting new pathways to satisfy ECFMG Certification's clinical skills requirement has been anxiety provoking for International Medical Graduates (IMG), especially those who do not currently qualifying for any of the current 6 pathways. In this episode ACMedical's Dr. Pedram Mizani and Cody Phan discuss the ideal timeline for USMLEs when it comes to the 2022 Main Match cycle, and the implications of these new USMLE policies on other ERAS supporting documents including: Letters of Recommendation (LORs), Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) and Personal Statement (PS).
