Our Host, the Professor Cesare Augusto, presents this new special showcase by first shedding light on the wildly popular Western subgenre, the Spaghetti Western. This colorful, exciting, and violent film movement began in Italy where its many innovative directors took the classic Hollywood Western and flipped it on its ten-gallon-hat wearing head. Professor Augusto details his lifelong fascination with this movement, and how it visually and musically stood out from its American counterpart.

Spearheading the first Spaghetti Western Starter Pack entry is the action-packed and bloodily violent 1966 adventure thriller, NAVAJO JOE. Vintage Hollywood star Burt Reynolds stars in his only Spaghetti Western as the titular Navajo Joe, a vengeful Indigenous American warrior out to destroy the killers of his woman. Joe's pursuit of vengeance would litter the sands of the untamed American west with blood and bullets!
