Episode 8: Teresa Keng - From Milk and Honey to State Assembly
This weeks guest tells us a little of her story from moving to the US and surviving on her own as a teenager to opening her own restaurant and running for City Council. Teresa Keng has taken what life has given to her and has made the most of it, which turns out to be quite a lot.
As someone who came to Fremont in a shaking and unstable situation, Teresa years later has not rooted herself in the community. She saw the need for an authentic Taiwanese restaurant in the city, so she started one. She saw an opening for a seat on City Council so that she could make a difference for her district, so she ran for office and won. And now she is running to represent our region as part of the State Assembly.
Teresa Keng is a great example of so many that have come to Fremont to make a home and have only made it better with her presence.
In June 2022, the vote will be taken for a seat on the State Assembly. Check out this interview and stop in to Milk and Honey and get to know Teresa a little better.
