In this episode of [Confessions of a Wedding Photographer], I’m going to talk about one of my favourite wedding stories where an Australian Idol drop out crashes the speeches during the reception to profess his love for the bride.
In a wedding in Yallingup, Western Australia a drunk former Australian Idol top 30 drop out crashes the wedding speeches and sings a drunken rendition of “I will always love you" by Whitney Houston. The display was as cringey as it was sad - much to the delight of the groom and the guests. The singer who I won’t name drove from Perth to Yallingup and arrived under the influence - grabbing the microphone after the father of the grooms speech. My husband is a wedding photographer and has been doing it as a side job for around 5 years but isn’t getting the traction we thought he would have by now.
