Over 10 million Americans seek medical attention for stress each year.
Four Types of Stress:
1. Acute Stress: is not destructive to the body like the other types of stress.
2. Recurrent Stress: begins to attack the body as a stressor. It causes you to feel fatigue and tired and anxious.
3. Chronic Stress: The body begins to accept the stress a the norm and the high levels of circulating stress chemicals are destructive. Cortisol and adrenaline can cause weight gain, premature atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, wrinkles and premature aging.
4. Traumatic Stress: tragedy that occurs and affects the body . Sometime the organs in the body actually shut down due to the tragic stress. There are several examples including Stress Related Cardiomyopathy or Broken Heart Syndrome.
