Episode 80: R v Goldfinch Part I (Majority)

Listen Later

Today we bring you Part I of our 3-part release of the 2019 SCC decision R v Goldfinch. This decision, split three ways, discusses a "friends with benefits" relationship in the context of s 276 of the Criminal Code. Before Karly takes you through the decision, Zach & Karly discuss Seaboyer, the Twin Myths, and how 30 odd years later the court still disagrees when interpreting what the twin myths mean in practice.

CONTENT WARNING: This decision concerns a sexual assault. Please take care when listening.
