Habits are part of life, so they’re definitely part of songwriting. Good songwriting habits lead to efficiency, productivity, and creativity. Not so great ones have a negative effect on the craft and can result in the lack of inspiration and other obstacles. I’m beyond delighted to share a fantastic conversation with Jakub Winiarski, independent artist and host of the Sunday Night Army, all about songwriting habits.
The quote for this episode is by Octavia Butler: “First, forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you’re inspired or not.” Jakub and I had such an incredible conversation about songwriting habits. We cover the importance of habits, our personal songwriting habits, good and bad songwriting habits, and more. It was a blast having Jakub on the show since I love collaborating with other podcasters. Our chat is a fabulous one that I hope inspires you to create healthy habits in your songwriting.
