Craigsistential Crisis

Episode 81 - Four Twenty Twenty-FUN (w/ Elena Afanasiev)

Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em, it’s once again time for our annual 420 celebration! We get high and stay there as we enjoy the bounty of the missed connection section under the influence of oui’d, and under the guidance of our sober companion Elena Afanasiev!
Weed is great fun and all, but it’s sobering to think that there are still people serving time in prisons for cannabis-related convictions just while others profit off of its use or use it to make podcasts. That’s why we’re highlighting a couple of organizations that we hope you’ll read about and donate to!
NuLeaf Project’s mission is to build intergenerational wealth via the legal cannabis industry for the communities disproportionately harmed by cannabis criminalization – Black, Indigenous, and Latinx communities. NLP’s programs are designed to increase success outcomes for people of color in the cannabis industry either as business owners or professionals. (nuleafproject.org)
Through intervention, advocacy, and awareness campaigns the Last Prisoner Project works to redress the past and continuing harms of these unjust laws and policies. Their first step is to release those still incarcerated on cannabis offenses. Their release efforts focus on clemency initiatives on the state and federal level, their compassionate release program, and client advocacy through their release campaigns.(lastprisonerproject.org)
