The historical fiction genre has become saturated with World War II settings, but at least it encourages authors to find new angles and fresh stories. This one follows a British writer to the formerly occupied British island of Guernsey, where she meets and falls for a small group of individuals brought together by books. The real part of the story we're wondering about is how does an author discount one part of a love triangle when the character hasn't done anything wrong, and what's the deal with the girl proposing?
