Devi Chandraganta is the third manifestation of Goddess Durga, and her worship is observed on the third day of the Hindu festival of Navratri. The name "Chandraganta" is derived from two words:

"Chandra," which means "moon," and "Ganta," which means "bell." She is named so because of the crescent moon-shaped ornament adorning her forehead that looks like a bell.
