Dr. Scott Nicholson is the lead professor for the Game Design and Development program at Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. He also runs the Brantford Games Network lab (BGNlab) where teams of students research and design games for organizations. Scott was the host of the first video series on YouTube about board games called Board Games with Scott, which ran from 2005-2010, and has several published board games. His current focus in on the design of escape rooms and breakout boxes, and enjoys working with organizations to create live-action games design around learning or training outcomes. He is best known in the escape room world for creating the first large-scale study of escape rooms and for his work leading student teams to design the semi-finals and finals for the Red Bull Mind Gamers Escape Room World Championship.
