Thomas Ince had a heavy hand in how the movie industry was shaped back in the early 1910s.  Despite the notoriety he garnered during his life, however, it is perhaps his death that he is most widely known for.  Officially the records state that he died of heart failure, but is that all there is to the case?  What of the rumors that he was shot onboard the yacht of his close friend, media mogul William Hearst?  Why did so many people keep quiet about that night? Did he truly catch a stray bullet meant for Charlie Chaplin?  Over a century later, and we're still wondering what truly happened to Thomas Ince.
