Welcome to Fight in Progress!
In this latest episode, Host Susan Simons and co-host Tom “TheBombDotCom” Haubold talk with Fight in Progress Producer Joel, and Chandler Officer Tom. This episode will be two parts split over the next two weeks.
This episode is part 2 of our honor to Officer Tyler Britt, on what would have been his 50th Birthday. Tyler served for nearly 20 years before he passed away from COVID-19. Today we hear from his son, Joel, and Tyler’s best friend and fellow Officer Tom.
This week is unique as we gain the insight of what it is like to be a child or family member of a Police Officer, and reflect on how we can better communicate with loved ones while also keeping them safe. Joel shares his battle after the death of his best friend and father, and how he became involved with Under the Shield. We also gain insight on ways families can prepare for death of loved ones and why it's important to have these crucial conversations together.
Description:
Fight in Progress with Susan Simons aims to discuss problems and difficulties our officers face every day from sleep deprivation, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and adrenal fatigue, to depression, isolation, physical illnesses, emotional distress, divorce and all too often suicide. Fight in Progress looks to cover these topics and discuss their solutions to help these warriors navigate these threats through education and preparation. We speak to experts, officers and their families from around the country to have hard discussions on what challenges this community faces, and what we can do to strengthen our men and women in law enforcement.
