Felicia Haecker is as inspirational as they come: originally a military brat, Felicia then signed up to the forces for herself and spent 12 years in the USAF (where she also met her husband).

Once both Felicia and her husband made the decision to leave, they bought a RV and clocked-up over 17,000 miles travelling around the country. This allowed Felicia, and her family, to have a year of freedom on the road. At some of the parks they stayed at, Felicia discovered that there were a lot of fellow veterans living there, who were also in the middle of their transition from the military.

Eventually, Felicia and her family (which now included 2 children), settled in Sacramento after her husband got a job offer in law enforcement. At this time, Felicia then decided to go back to school to get her doctorate, where she studied the lives of female military officers in the process of their transitions... and found her tribe.
