Urban legend atau legenda urban merupakan sebuah kisah rakyat yang melegenda pada daerah-daerah tertentu. Sebenarnya legenda urban ini sama halnya seperti dongeng. Di Jepang sendiri kisah horor semacam ini memiliki nama lain yaitu Toshi Densetsu atau legenda urban Jepang.
