-Tim is a systems engineer by trade but got his start in sales while at a company called Object Rocket. At this company, he started to join sales calls where he both answered technical questions and gathered insight that helped build the product.
Burnout
-There is far too much focus on numbers in the operations and sales worlds. This hyper-fixation of numbers is why so many people leave these industries. Tim left to become a chef for some time.
Being Coin-Operated
-It is okay to be motivated by money. Do not allow companies to take advantage of you. You should be compensated for your work.
Being a Person of Color in Tech
-When Tim first began in tech everyone was preparing for Y2K. Being Black in the 90s tech world meant you could identify with few people. So, Tim learned to codeswitch.
