Ayo! We’re back with part two of the 2022 Bird Report! Get ready to hear us ramble on about some of our favourite music and video game releases from the past year. This was a crazy year for music and so much to talk about. Truthfully, more time is spent focused on music in this episode but we do our best to touch on what we’ve been playing, both old and new. Get your notes app ready because we cover some real bangers that you should definitely check out and/or revisit.
We kick things off by jumping into our music lists right away and covering a wide variety of genres, artists, and albums that we think are excellent. Some of them were sleepers, some were outright hits, and some have aged incredibly well. You’ll hear names like Kendrick Lamar, Soul Glo, Ab-Soul, The Callous Daoboys, Vince Staples, Kenny Beats, PUP, Freddie Gibbs, $uicideboy$, Brakence, Roc Marciano & The Alchemist, Stormzy, Smino, Drake & 21 Savage, Fred Again.., Wiki & Subjxct 5, Joyce Manor, Billy Woods, Escape From The Zoo, Benny The Butcher, and a whole lot more. Then we talk about some of the games we’ve been playing and love including “Stray”, “Dying Light 2”, “Cyberpunk 2077”, “God Of War: Ragnarok”, “Horizon: Forbidden West”, “Elden Ring”, “Project Zomboid”, “Crusader Kings 3”, “Disco Elysium”, “No Man’s Sky”, “Evil West”, and other good stuff.
We follow our lists with an interview with a friend of the pod, rapper, and all-around dope dude… Whesnday. He’s back! He joins us to chat about his new album with Flyxo called “Vices”. It is the third offering of their unofficial trilogy. During the conversation, he shares some insight about the album’s conception, the writing process, his mental health, and his relationship with Flyxo. Plus, we give them both their flowers and applaud their work ethic and tenacity.
