After weeks of staying at home, everyone is missing their favorite restaurants and bars.
The escape of a cocktail or an expertly-cooked meal feels like a distant luxury currently, but our favorite chefs and mixologists are trying to bring those experiences back.
In this episode, we talk to the people who are trying to turn your kitchen into your favorite restaurant, and your living room into your favorite bar.
First, we talk to Matt Wynne, the executive chef of Taste, who is using this time out of the kitchen to help you In yours. He is working with Jonathan Lorentzen to host virtual cooking classes and we get their perspective on what this means for the community and what it could mean after this is all over.
Then, while sipping a cocktail on the couch might not be as much fun as a night out at the bar, James Thomas, the co-founder of St. Louis Bourbon Society, hopes to bring that same sense of community into your home via the internet.
They're helping us learn exactly what to do once we bring that liquor home from the store by hosting Facebook Lives with mixologists and bartenders across St. Louis all while helping raise money for the Gateway Resilience Fund.
So while you're stuck at home, they're trying to bring the best spots in St. Louis to you. Sit back, plug in, and enjoy!
