Here at OFFSCREEN, we believe that art, like film and music, is one of the best ways to see, hear, and understand the experiences of people who are different from us. In light of recent events, Sophia and I want to use our platform to educate our audiences and share resources of works that illustrate the black experience in America. Although we will never fully understand what the African American community experiences without being in their shoes, films, and music are the closest way for us to see these stories from their perspectives, and see their stories the way they want them to be told.
