A win over Wests, ended Melbourne's two-game losing streak after back to back losses to the Bulldogs and Titans in Round 2 and Round 3. The defensive effort against Wests Tigers was pleasing; the goal line defensive effort and scramble to shutdown the offloads and expansive ball movement which traditionally causes all sorts of problems for Melbourne's defensive systems, was responsive and swift. No doubt that defensively mindset and mentality will be needed going into Round 5 against the Rabbitohs who are coming off a highly emotional week and win against the Sea Eagles.
