We begin with her early life in Sacramento, CA as the daughter of an indigenous Mexican engineer/scholar father and an equally brilliant Scots-Irish mother, post-college years traveling with her young family, working as a translator and interpreter in Mexico helping out Benedictine nuns in service of Liberation Theology, delving into the vital importance of story in indigenous cultures, the history and practice of El Dia de Los Muertos, plunging into the world of Carl Jung, coming to terms with the Spanish Conquest of the New World, recognizing the destruction of one world and the creation of another and how healing can arise from awareness.
