Tavari Brown has a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Mercer University in Atlanta. She completed her master's degree in professional counseling at Georgia State University, a master's in public health from New York University with a focus in Community Health Education, and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California at Berkeley.
Dr. Brown manages a comprehensive cancer wellness program in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Her former position as a Public Health Advisor for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) afforded her the opportunity to develop, manage, and evaluate malaria prevention programs in sub-Saharan Africa. Her previous work experience includes HIV counseling, education, and research. She specializes in counseling clients and families dealing with health related concerns. Her areas of interest include stress, coping, post-traumatic growth, and the role of social support in healing and end of life issues.
Dr. Brown approaches clinical supervision from a combined developmental and wellness-focused approach.
