Frankie, Cheri and Rachel were recording this excerpt from Chapter 5 for Frankie's audiobook version of "The Man, He's Stupid, And The Girl, She's So Bitch" about having to tell men what to do and how to do it otherwise they won't do it. Cheri explained that her husband will step up when asked, Rachel got frustrated because she feels like her husband says he will do a household chore but then days pass sometimes and she ends up doing it herself because she is tired of waiting. Frankie explains you have to be specific and give them a time frame to get the chore done. Cheri was explaining that if she doesn't ask her husband to do the dishes then he won't do them so ask and be specific about when you want it done. It sparked an ongoing issue with Rachel and her husband and kids regarding house work. Rachel rushes through eating dinner and starts cleaning up and doing dishes because she just wants her day to be done otherwise there is always another thing to do because nobody else helps UNLESS she asks and then it MIGHT get done at some point, maybe. Frankie explains just simply ask but be specific about how and when you would like it done. Frankie imitates her mother saying "because they are stupid and they can't figure out nothing unless you tell them." Cheri goes on to say in the book: It was so fascinating. Then I had to look at myself to say, “why does it mean less to me somehow if I have to ask him—if I have to tell him what I need?” There's a part of me that wants him to just think like I do and make that leap.
We end the podcast with this quote from Frankie: And it won’t become a habit for him either. He did it 30 days in a row, he wouldn't do it the 31st day.
