Sharing the Manual

Episode 9 - It's Okay to NOT Be Okay with Krista Malden

Listen Later

So very excited to bring to you today our first guest on the Sharing the Manual Podcast, Krista Malden. She is a remarkable human, not to mention a rockstar. She originated in the music industry, a founder and publisher of Community Now Magazine, which you should check out if you haven't already! Her love for storytelling comes through in all her work. She wears many hats and is a mom and a drummer.

Krista and I have had multiple conversations about mental health and wellness, trying to make this world a better place by building a community around conversations. She will be sharing with us today that it is okay NOT to be okay. But, of course, we all share from the point of living our very own journey.

This is a hard story for anyone to tell because to tell it you have to admit that at some point you were not ok. And most people don’t realize they aren’t ok - when they aren’t ok until it’s too overwhelming. If you are “living” in the not ok space … everyday… that’s hard. (On all aspects of our lives…health, wellness, work, social, family…)

Imagine having the good and evil on your shoulders yelling at you from both directions, imagine fighting your own mind.

Being ok with not being ok Is complicated and it means we have to own how we feel Right now … and be ok with how we feel right now.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not there.

Build your community of support, try people on - I just love this!

Being ok with not being ok means acceptance of the moment. Breathe it, live it, release it…accepting it is the key.

I, too, asked her what her favourite quote is, as it sheds some insight into her heart. "Until thought is linked with purpose, there is no intelligent accomplishment." James Allen.
