Starting a new themed series that I'll touch on each month where I clear up some misconceptions in the wellness realm, starting with today's hot topic: Spot Reducing. So many people hit the gym and hit those crunches, sit-ups and planks super hard thinking that's going to make them skinny and reveal that mega six-pack ... and truthfully, it makes sense, right? If you want to shape something up, you'd surely need to focus intently on that muscle group, no?
Hate to say it but, not entirely. Humans do not have the ability to pick and choose which body part from which they want to burn fat. It isn't possible no matter what that magazine says. Listen in and I'll tell you more about how fat loss actually works.
