  • Love is not enough to make a relationship work. Love can be unconditional but partnerships are highly conditional, and need to be.
  • The biggest blindspot in relationships is discernment. It is ignoring that something is a pattern of behavior and hoping that it will “get better again”. Do not confuse having compassion and understanding for where someone is coming from, with making the way they show up in partnership up being acceptable, healthy, okay…
  • Of course there is going to be misunderstanding, but are you bonding through fulfilling, collaborative experiences… or are you bonding over the drama, hardship, and processing?
  • Are you being honest with yourself? Is the relationship nourishing you or depleting you? Is it a place you feel enveloped in love and support or are you constantly bracing yourself to feel unsupported?
  • You already have the instinct, now your job is learning how to listen to it and trust it.
