In this first episode of 2020, Amanda interviews Jessie Medina, social entrepreneur, podcaster, brand consultant, speaker, and avid advocate for female empowerment. Jessie talks about extricating herself from a toxic work environment and striking out on her own. She shares how she used confidence to overcome her own fear and the doubts of those around her who thought her entrepreneurial vision was “crazy”. Jessie also describes how a very negative situation ended up mysteriously helping her to fulfill her dream of opening a feminine co-working and event space.
This new space, located in downtown San Diego, is named FEMXQuarters. FEMX stands for Female Empowerment Movement & Experiences. It is the first Latina founded co-working space on the west coast.
FEMxQuarters is a beautiful and safe home for a powerful community of entrepreneurs and offers events and classes like yoga, salsa dancing, acting, public speaking and vision board workshops, and so much more. Jessie discusses how rewarding this adventure has been thus far and the learning curves of communicating with contractors and knowing just how much toilet paper to buy every week. She's thrilled to see members connect and thrive.
