1999 was released in 1982. Princes fifth release but the first with The Revolution. 1999 was his breakout album scoring some commercial success with Little Red Corvette reaching #6 on the top 100. The title track 1999 reached #41 covering political anti-nuclear sentiments about proliferation at the time. This album preceeded Purple Rain.
