Episode 90: Race Spotlight - Badwater Salton Sea
Our mission is to help you take your next step on your ultra running
journey. And, sometimes, if you are like us, you may not know what that next step may look like. In this episode we want to introduce you to the Badwater Salton Sea. Part of the Badwater family of races, Salton Sea is lesser known than the Badwater 135, but has all the features that you would come to expect from a Badwater race. Salton Sea is a team race consisting of two or three runners and the kicker is...it is not a relay, instead they have to stay together.
The course covers 81 miles over deserts and mountains in Southern California from Salton City to Palomar Mountain. The route is a mix of road and trail with a total elevation gain of over 9000 feet. The next Salton Sea will take place on April 27th and has a cap of 100 runners. Interested? Listen in as we catch up with race director, Chris Kostman.
