In 2011, Jeffrey Hassan, Executive Director of the African American Leadership Forum, published an education reported titled “Crisis in Our Community” describing best practices in K-12 Education for African American children in the Twin Cities, with a rating of the top 10 schools in elementary, middle and high school for African American children, based upon proficiency and growth.
