Building on last week’s discussion about trauma and the importance of mental health in the black community, we interview Dr. Mariel Buquè, a Counseling Psychology Ph.D. from Columbia University and founder of Cultural Therapy, a website dedicated to connecting people from diverse backgrounds with culturally affirming mental health providers. During our conversation, we discuss the meaning behind her mission of doing therapy #fortheculture (27:30), the importance of addressing trauma in the Black community (31:30), and the signs of individual trauma (34:27).
