Dr. Weisbrod is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Aquatic Animal Medicine at the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine. She obtained her DVM at Cornell in 2017 followed by an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA West Los Angeles and a specialtyinternship in aquatic medicine at the University of Florida. She went on to pursue a masters and her research focused on pathology in Florida manatee calves. In 2023 she completed a residency in aquatic and zoological medicineand obtained board certification by the American College of Zoological Medicine. Upon completion of her training, she was ready to dive into her new position and celebrate with her friends and family, however, life had otherplans. In January of 2024 a biopsy confirmed a diagnosis of breast cancer. She has spent the entirety of the year on the other side of the needle battling the disease, but in the process has learned to be a better advocate and moreeffective and empathetic friend, partner, and clinician.
