A few more days it will be Thanksgiving. Remember what this is all about. People in Europe were being oppressed by government, by rulers. They were being over taxed, told what religion to follow, what they could and could not do. They were oppressed in all aspects of their lives. So they got on a boat, the Mayflower, and they left for a new world. On that boat they were sick, some lost their lives, it was winter and cold, but they made it to the Americas. They built houses and communities. They built relationships with the native Indians, sometimes there were problems, but they learned how to plant corn through the Indians. At the end of the harvest the Pilgrims and the Indians sat down and gave thanks. The lesson is to remember that this country was born by escaping government oppression. A few years later the British wanted America, so they came and tried to oppress again. They wanted to tax us without any representation in England. Americans rose up and chased the British back to England and the King decided let America live. We beat government oppression again. Today we have government trying to oppress us again, and isn't it amazing that they are trying to oppress Thanksgiving that has a very clear message on how we beat oppression by leaving oppression, and being thankful for being free. This Thanksgiving, do not let Government oppress you any longer. Stand up, celebrate Thanksgiving freely with your relatives and friends. Give of yourself to others and be thankful for the blessing you can pass on. Defy Government. Stop Government oppression.
