At the last supper, Jesus gave new meaning to the Passover meal. The next day He was crucified at about the time the Passover lambs were being sacrificed at the Jerusalem Temple. There is tremendous meaning behind both events. The sacrifice of the Passover lamb was a symbol for mankind’s future salvation while Jesus on the cross was the fulfillment of that salvation.
