20 years, 22,000 sets of remains, and countless man hours and yet 40% of of the victims who died on September 11, 2001 remain unidentified. I look into the complex challenges that the scientists have faced in the most complex forensic investigation in modern history as well as the difficulties in handling human remains, when we don't know what or where they are.
