Episode 98 - Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

Our Check in this week, finds Edward continuing some work that he started while he was quarantined due to COVID. Realizing that the anger he feels now at certain events he lived through as a child, is only what he feels now as an adult. Having spent quite some time alone Edward started working through some of those childhood memories, trying to identify the emotions he was feeling in the moment and nurturing his child through those times. Jason also shares some of the work he has done in this area and not only the difficulty he has gone through, but also some of the insight he was given by the therapist he was working with at that time.

This week Edward and Jason dive into an overview of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. Realizing that they have mentioned it several times in different episodes, Edward and Jason felt it was time to talk about it in depth. Maslow’s Hierarchy is now most often used in relationship to behavior and communication through that behavior. Originally Maslow was using it as a tool to discern motivation of individuals. Jason and Edward delve into the levels to give a better understanding of this tool and why they reference it often.
