Episode 98 - Taali
Dan Sterenchuk and Tommy Estlund are honored to have as our guest, the musician, Taali. Born in New York City, taught worldwide, Taali is an electric musical force and community builder. Her music, described as "a beguiling mix of pulse, chamber pop, avant-electronica, and quiet storm," addresses identity, love, and overcoming trauma. As a producer, songwriter, and singer, Taali weaves a landscape drawing from the empowering Judaic culture passed down from her family and the uplifting stories of the fierce women she surrounds herself with. Her debut album "I Am Here" announces a new sound you've never heard: Jewish Contemporary Pop Music. Co-produced by Taali, the music is profoundly, deeply alive, and includes breaths, claps, hand glides and heavily layered vocals. It is available worldwide on Rainbow Blonde Records, a label Taali herself cofounded alongside her creative partner José James, with a mission to reflect the world through music and creative communities worldwide.
